Paired with the Ford TorqShift® G six-speed transmission, the 6.2L V8 engine delivers peak torque at a lower revolutions per minute (RPM) in order to generate high torque throughout the midrange of the powerband.
6.7L Power Stroke® V8 Turbo Diesel
The 2020 Ford F-250 has the option of equipping your truck with the third generation 6.7L Power Stroke diesel engine. With a new steel piston design, the Power Stroke utilizes the piston with a short overall height, which in turn compensates for the increased weight of the steel. This piston offers increased strength and resilience and lower friction. The 6.7L V8 is paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission.

2020 Ford F-250Towing Capacity
Towing capacity is the maximum amount of weight your vehicle can tow when pulling a trailer. This capacity factors in the weight of the truck and any cargo as well. Towing capacity is calculated by taking your truck's gross combined vehicle weight rating (GCVWR) and subtracting your truck's curb weight. The GCVWR is defined as the maximum weight of a loaded vehicle and its attached loaded trailer - so this includes passengers, cargo inside the truck, and the trailer attached.
Towing capacity can depend on which engine you decide to equip with your F-250. As seen in the table above, the 6.7L V8 engine can carry a much larger towing capacity than the 6.2L V8 and 7.3L V8. Make sure to check your owner's manual to determine your exact towing capacity.
2020 Ford F-250Payload Capacity
The maximum payload capacity on the 2020 Ford F-250 is 4,260 pounds. A truck's payload capacity refers to the maximum amount of weight you can safely add to a truck's cargo area in addition to its empty weight (or curb weight). To calculate the payload capacity, you need to know both the curb weight and the GVWR. Subtract the curb weight from the GVWR to find the payload capacity.
